Type: Specialized Notched Tool 

Material: Black Banded Sucrosic Obsidian

Size: 3" Long x 1-1/8" Wide

Grade: Appears to have been functioned as a hafted scraper or chisel and quite possibly as an atlatl weight. This specimen is likely related to the Northern Archaic Hunting Tradition circa 4500-6500 BP (Nightfire Island Culture?). Has fine bifacial pressure flaking, good use polish, heavy mineral deposits. Has remnant striking platform on the basal region suggesting that this relic was created from a core remnant.
